Forthcoming Events, Activities and Classes
Our Special Fireworks Train runs from Rushcliffe Halt in East Leake to Ruddington on Saturday 5th November. It is very atmospheric travelling in the dark and arriving into colourful activities at Ruddington. We want to fill the train!
If you would like to pay for tickets in advance there is a discount but you can just turn up and pay on the train.
There is free car parking at Rushcliffe Halt (East Leake next to British Gypson) but if you live anywhere on the Gotham Road it is just a short walk.
Bala 2 Belvoir
On Thursday 20th September we will start our challenge with a 5k swim in the icy waters of Lake Bala. We will then cycle 60 hilly miles to Wilderhope before getting some sleep. The followng day we will cycle the remaining 90 miles back to East Leake. Then on the Saturday we will reassemble at Belvoir Castle to take on the Equinox which is a 24 race consisting of as many 10k loops as possible. I will be on a team of 5 for this part and will personally be attempting to run at least 50k.
So over 4 days that’s a 5k swim, 150 mile bike ride (with approx. 10,000ft of climbing) and at least a 50k run.
Why? As a group we want to raise money and awareness of the amazing charity Harmless – The Tomorrow Project. This charity supports individuals and families impacted by self-harm and suicide.
