Applications to join Friends of Meadow Park
We are pleased to have over 200 members who receive a couple of newsletters each year detailing the wildlife, wildflowers, birds, butterflies that have recently been seen in the park as well as jobs carried out by volunteers. For members that would like to join our work parties we meet on the second Saturday each month 10:00 to 12:00 behind the Parish Council. We do some of the jobs that the Borough or Parish Council do not budget for. Such as, pollard overgrown willow trees, plant wildflowers, spread wood chippings on muddy areas, keep pathways clear, litter pick and many other tasks. In the process new skills are acquired and friendships made, not a bad spin-off for a few hours exercise!
Being a member does not mean you have to join the work parties. By paying the small yearly membership fee you will be contributing to the upkeep of our park. Membership fees are used to purchase nest boxes, wildflower seeds, bulbs, trees, tools and many other items to improve our park.
How can I support and join? You must be over 16 years of age to be an individual member. Simply click on the link below to download the form. The completed form can be handed in to the Parish Council offices. The subscription is just £3 per year for an individual or £5 a year for family/household membership which covers all ages.
