East Leake Women's Institute
East Leake WI has been active in our village for over 90 years. Our meetings generally take place on the second Tuesday of every month in the village hall at 7.30 pm. We have a varied programme of speakers and organise daytime and evening activities between meetings, including craft groups, walks, lunches, table tennis and outings. We have around 35 members of all ages.
The subscription for 2021 is £22.40 and members pay £1 at the door for refreshments, raffle ticket and to help with the general running of the WI. Visitors are welcome at a cost of £4. Membership benefits include the WI magazine 'WI Life', full voting rights, the county newsletter and admission to all WI activities.
East Leake is part of the National Federation of Women's Institutes and the Nottinghamshire Federation. For more information go to Nottinghamshire WI
Upcoming talks this year: We hope to reopen (covid permitting) on Tuesday 13th July at 7.30 pm in the village hall with a talk given by Yvonne Radley on our days as a rookie journalist on the Loughborough Echo in the 1990s. We have a full programme of speakers planned, as well as a garden party, river boat trip, outings, lunches, craft and walks.
Why not come along to join us! New members and visitors very welcome.
