We have reduced our opening hours to give staff extra time to clean and make the building as safe as possible.

We are pleased to announce that East Leake Library’s opening hours have now been extended (see above) following the opening of a new Customer Service Point for Rushcliffe Borough Council in the Library, providing face to face access to services for residents living in the south of the Borough.
Every 2nd Monday 2.30 – 3pm. Come and join us for Story Hullabaloo Stories and songs and rhymes for children from 0 – 5 yrs. Free, no need to book.
Rattle Rhyme and Roll
Every 4th Monday 2.30 – 3pm. Come and join us for Rattle, Rhyme and Roll. Songs, Rhymes and actions for children from 0 – 5 yrs. Free, no need to book.
We run a very successful Lego Club at the Library. It runs fortnightly on Saturdays (alternating with Family Games) from 10am – 12.30pm. It’s free and you can just drop in and start creating your masterpieces! All children must be accompanied by an adult. Lego donations welcomed!

Family Board Games
Join us fortnightly on Saturday Mornings, from 10am – 12.30pm and challenge yourself to one of our Family Games which include Jenga, Chess, Scrabble amongst others. It’s free and there’s no need to book.

Local Reading Groups – New members welcome!
Are you interested in discussing books with others? Want to be introduced to different authors? The East Leake Reading Group meets regularly at the library, during the day. Contact the library for further information and the next book to be discussed.
If you would like to set up a reading group, then we can supply the books for the group and the venue. Contact the library for further details.
Introduction to IT
The library offers a free, one hour basic introduction to using a mouse, a keyboard and basic word-processing skills. As a follow-up there is a one hour session on how to use the internet and a one hour session on how to use email. Please contact staff for further details.
Do you enjoy words? Fancy a social game of Scrabble? Come along to the Scrabble group meeting at East Leake Library on the last Thursday of the month at 2pm. All welcome.

Police Beat Surgery
There will be a Police Beat Surgery every month at East Leake Library. It’s a good opportunity to meet your local Police Team if you wish to discuss any local issues. Please keep a look out for the next surgery – new date coming soon.
We have quite a lot of items that have been left in the library. It would be lovely to reunite them with their rightful owners. Pop into the library and ask us.

Never to young to enjoy books…! We have lots of books for babies and young children, so don’t let them miss out on all the fun…borrow up to 24 books at a time!
Join your child in our ‘Bookstart Bear Club’. It’s fun and free for all children between 0 – 4 years old…. Collect your bear stamp each time you visit then you’ll receive a certificate after 6 stamps. Please come in and ask for the Bookstart Bear Pack. And it’s not just books in the children’s’ library…..there are talking books too!
There is also a Parents’ Collection, for books on parenting and dealing with issues that might affect children.
