The Church of England has been updating its advice to churches about the coronavirus on a daily basis and has developed a contingency plan to help guide us through the coming weeks and months.
As part of this, it is now necessary to stop church services until further notice.

**********

The Church of England has been updating its advice to churches on a daily basis regarding the coronavirus and have developed a contingency plan to help guide us through the coming weeks.

At the moment, we are carrying on with church services, although this will be reviewed weekly. We encourage everyone to make individual informed decisions about the risk to their own health and fully supports anyone who does not feel able to attend.

To reduce the risk of infection, we will not be offering the wine during Communion or serving refreshments for the next few weeks.
We are also advising people to avoid physical contact, including handshaking at the door or during the peace.
Please do also take note of government guidelines about self-isolating and hand washing and you are strongly encouraged to stay at home if you are feeling unwell and follow all Public Health advice.

Finally, wherever you find yourself this Sunday, we ask you join us as we pray for those already affected by the virus, and pray for our nation and for our world.

You might find these words helpful:

Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy
in this time of uncertainty and distress.
Sustain and support the anxious and fearful,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may rejoice in your comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen.

UPDATE on Holiday Club!

In consultation with the Diocese, we are unfortunately having to postpone Holiday Club this year. One of the main reasons for this is that we do not have the capacity to host 50 children + volunteers with one small sink available for hand washing for this type of high intensity event. We look forward to being ‘back on air’ next year.
